What is Maya Abdominal Therapy?
Maya Abdominal Therapy is a series of gentle, non-invasive, visceral massage techniques applied to the abdomen, mid to lower back, and hip areas of the body. It originates from the Arvigo Techniques in Belize, that have been passed down from traditional healers, midwives, and shamans of the region. This treatment works by relieving the physical muscle congestion and tension as well as removing adhesions; all of this to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems and to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology.
Benefits of Maya Abdominal Therapy
Maya Abdominal Therapy techniques are designed with the intention to support the body’s innate organic movement towards restoring internal balance from within the abdominal core. This treatment targets the physical stress and build up in the muscles and tissues to release and encourage an ongoing overall state of internal health and balance. Maya Abdominal Therapy is effective for both women and men.
How Maya Abdominal Therapy Can Support Fertility and Hormone Balance
In support of fertility and hormonal balances, Maya Abdominal Therapy encourages the relaxation of the muscles and tissues in the body’s abdomen, mid to lower back and hip areas, creating an overall sense of optimal balance and well-being.
What to Expect
A Maya Abdominal Therapy treatment will typically last approximately one hour. Frequency of follow up treatments will depend upon each individual’s goals and any underlying conditions. Please bring any questions you have, as well as any concerns, to the attention of your Practitioner before starting treatment.
